Job Description:

If you're a safe driver with a positive, friendly attitude, we have a great opportunity for you. We're looking for a responsible worker with a good driving record to help us manage vehicle flow for our car dealership's service lane and showroom areas. Our car porter should have great communication skills, a professional appearance, and be customer service oriented. You'll be part of a larger automotive group service porter team that drives vehicles, as directed when they are ready for pick up. You may also spend time cleaning cars or checking fluids on customer vehicles. Does this sound like a job you'll love? If so, apply today!

Responsibilities:

Manage vehicle flow in our service stalls, service lane, service drive, and within the auto group parking lot
Work with the auto group service advisor to complete tasks such as keeping track of key tasks, cleaning cars, driving vehicles from service stalls, following dealership display standards, fielding customer requests, and other assigned duties
Drive customer vehicles for pick up after completed repairs or service
Maintain a professional attitude and greet customers with a smile
Keep parking lot, service drive, and other car porter areas neat and tidy


Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Must have great communication and customer service skills
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required
Valid state driver's license and good driving record are a must

Who is Grote Automotive? Fred Grote has been in the car business for over 25 years. He opened his 1st store in Fort Wayne, IN in 2008. Growing from 25 cars a month to 200 he opened a 2nd store in Warsaw, IN. After Great success there his 3rd store came to Rockford, IL. The 4th and 5th stores have just arrived in IN in 2022 as well. We plan to open 2 more in 2023. We opened here in Rockford in December 2020 and have been growing FAST. We specialize in solving transportation problems that most dealerships can't.
