MBX is looking for a Configuration Technician responsible for applying customer software and other technologies on hardware systems to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and has a knack for problem-solving.In this role, you will play an integral role in meeting customers expectations for configuring their products. Hard-working employees on our manufacturing team are the backbone of our company to continue our success at attracting and maintaining satisfied customers.What you'll doConfiguration Technicians are working hands-on with technology from some of the worlds largest and most successful software companies who deploy their applications on hardware, from streaming media companies to cybersecurity companies to military flight simulation developers, and other exciting industries.Follow platform documentation and production defaults in order to properly apply customer-specific, order-specific, and hardware-specific software to hardware systemsInstall and configure various operating systems across a wide range of hardwareInstall software images through an internal PXE environmentCreate and configure RAID arraysFlash custom BIOS and firmware onto hardwareTroubleshoot computer hardware issuesIdentify and quarantine defective hardwareCommunicate production problems with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Sales departmentsPerform visual inspection on systems and accessory boxesPerform diagnostic testing using third-party software tools such as PC-Doctor, MemTest, and SeaToolsWork as an assembly technician or fulfill other department requirements, as neededWhat would make you a strong fitHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience with computer hardwareExperience with various operating systems, Linux preferredWork well with others and demonstrate a great work ethicCapable of following written instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobAble to lift 50 lbs.Able to work additional hours and weekends as requiredWhy you'll love working at MBXWe have a history of promoting from within you have opportunities to grow within the companyWe crave knowledge and value ongoing learning and educationWe are a driven, creative and energetic groupWe invest substantially in technology and implement the best tools to foster innovationYou will get direct feedback on your work and know what a difference you are makingYour voice and opinions will matterA little about usEverything we do at MBX stems from our passion to help successful tech companies simplify the process of bringing their products to market on hardware.
