How will you make an impact?
Leads projects in support of development of new products and evaluation of new technology.
What will you do?
Assess and formulate reagents for protein purification, protein assays and detection. Support instrument, hardware and software development Assist with manufacturing and analytical validation efforts and risk mitigation plans Majority of this role involves execution and communication of technical lab work Contribute well-considered ideas for new products and improvements to procedures Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant fields and techniquesHow will you make an impact?
This Scientist III will play a critical role in the development of new reagent and instrument development projects. This role requires strong technical skills in protein purification and analysis. Work in a highly collaborative environment that integrates reagents, instruments, and software to develop robust quantitative assays that meet the needs of biologists and clinicians. Work closely with R&D groups in the Life Sciences Research (LSR) and Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD).
How will you get here? Master/PhD degree in Analytical or Life Science (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline) with a minimum of 3-4 years of direct related experience Excellent knowledge and practical experience with protein purification and detection Excellent technical/scientific/business knowledge of Gel Electrophoresis, Western blotting and other immunoassays applications Ability to work independently to initiate, take ownership of, and lead research into innovative Western blotting-based workflows and assays Demonstrated oral and written communications skills with experience working in a matrix organization and with external customers Strong oral, written and presentation skills, and the ability to conduct research independently as well as being a team player Previous industrial product development experience strongly preferred Familiarity with ISO documentation is desirable Experience in product development and/or project management is highly desirable Expertise in proteomics sample preparation and processing techniques and data processingKnowledge, Skills, Abilities Solves problems in complicated situations through the application and integration of analytical skills, creatively and judgment
- Utilizes appropriate scientific principles and divisional policies to solve a variety of problems
- Identifies and resolves concerns with data and in experimental designs
- Adapts communication to accommodate audiences diversity and may communicate internally at higher levels
- Writes technical or business communications including papers for external publications or presentations
