Overview:Dana is seeking a dynamic candidate to oversee shift
operations for our Sterling, IL facility. The operations supervisor
is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day manufacturing
process remains sooth and efficient by organizing the workflow and
managing the staff. The primary purpose of this role is to be the
first level of authority in the workplace providing, leadership,
coaching and clear direction to ensure our people are working
safely, meeting customer demand, solving problems, eliminating
waste and meeting goals. This person must bring previous leadership
experience, the ability to drive production metrics, and be
passionate about training and developing production
employees.Hours: Day shift hours with abailty to cover the 3rd
shift when neededEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Facilitate
operations to achieve quality output while leading health, safety,
and environmental initiativesIdentify and implement process
improvement plansOrganize and develop training and educational
materials for the hourly workforceResponsible for personnel
decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary
actions.Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and
professional standards within the facilityOrganize, prioritize, and
monitor tasks to meet production goalsDemonstrated ability to lead,
motivate, and develop hourly staffMaintaining effective
communication with others within and outside of workgroupManaging
labor relations and conflict issues within the workgroupDevelop a
strong working relationship with the employees and management
teamMonitor and document employee attendance and maintain
attendance records.Maintain daily timekeeping and production
recordsAbility to adapt/respond to different types of personalities
in a positive and engaging fashionExcellent communication and
presentation skills. Verbal and
WrittenQualification/Competencies/Position Requirements:Mechanical
aptitude preferred. Knowledge of Power Transmission and Fluid Power
products is a plus.Ability to identify OSHA compliance issues and
control hazards.Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict
resolution skills.Proficiency in Microsoft office, ADP, SAP and
other business software/systems preferredAbility to multi-task,
prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced
environment.Ability to work overtime and weekends as
required.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering,
Business or minimum of 5 years of manufacturing supervisory role in
a Union environment.Knowledge in machine set-up.Self-motivated.Good
organizational skills.Work Environment:While performing the duties
of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or
airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The
employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions
on the site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites
can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical
parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather,
heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.Physical Demand:The
physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.The position lifts heavy objects, walks and
stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical
labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes,
pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to
provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual
dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb
coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move
arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.DANA will
