As a Fatherhood Support Group Facilitator, you will plan and lead
the weekly meetings of a Parents Care & Share Father's Group in
Northern Illinois and engage in other relevant group work, such as
outreach, arranging for food or snacks at group meetings, or parent
leadership development in the area. Parents Care & Share is a
parent support group model aimed at improving overall family
functioning and reducing the incidence of child abuse and neglect.
The Group Facilitator also develops safe and trusting relationships
with fathers so that services build on family strengths and
referrals can be provided for additional supportive services as
needed. If you are knowledgeable about the joys and challenges of
parenting, experienced in engaging clients and facilitating groups,
and passionate about helping fathers and families thrive and
flourish, this may be the perfect opportunity for you to join the

Staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to

What you'll do:
- Plan and facilitate father support groups and other parenting
focused activities in the community.
- Promote a friendly and welcoming environment for fathers and
- Develop and support opportunities for meaningful parent
- Provide crisis intervention and refer parents and families to
community resources during parent groups, as needed; act as liaison
to ensure successful linkage.
- Develop and implement a plan for marketing parent support
services in the community and recruiting participants.
- Complete documentation of services provided and clients
Who you are:
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in a social services field OR a
High School diploma and commitment to complete agency-sponsored
group facilitator training within 60 days of hire.
- Experience facilitating groups highly desirable.
- Familiarity with local community resources preferred.
- You are skilled at building rapport and forming relationships
built on mutual trust and respect.
- Location: groups occur in community-based locations in Northern
Illinois, near Rockford
- Schedule: Support groups are held weekly and scheduled with
both community need and the facilitator's availability in mind;
position requires approximately 5 hours/week
- Salary range: Starts at $17/hr; offers are commensurate with
