Environmental Education in northern Winnebago County

Position Responsibilities: Assist with a variety of tasks including: Assist with NATC programs as needed - working with school children, and adults. Meet and greet visitors to NATC. You would very often be at the center solo. Work with volunteers, develop volunteer work days Maintain trails by mowing, clearing and trail making Assist with administrative tasks as needed. Grounds keeping, garden and building care and maintenance. You may become involved with researching nature-based topics, writing blogs, planning and executing social media, program planning for NATC. Habitat restoration, seed collection and other natural resource tasks. Skills Desired: A good candidate will offer the following skills/attributes: Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) Ability to work comfortably with, and direct, volunteers. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Understanding of and passion for NATC's mission. Strong passion for the outdoors and willingness to get their hands dirty. Requirements Interest in the outdoors and nature Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be willing to drive Polaris Ranger and run power equipment, such as field mower. This is a 450 hour AmeriCorps position that will receive a cost of living stipend and a federal education award of $1,638.89 upon completion of the term of service.
