Success in this role could set you up to take on additional responsibilities and/or pursue advancement opportunities in Delavan and across our global organization.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs CI Engineer, you will support the CI Manager in driving Lean and continuous improvement efforts throughout the SPX Flow's Delavan facility, including picking up existing programs and implementing new ones as they are identified. This will include value stream mapping, ensuring on-time delivery, reducing operating costs and more. As a Lean subject matter expert, you'll also support the CI Manager in driving the continuing evolution of the Lean culture and systems.You will spend 70-80% of your time on the shop floor working with associates and making improvements. You will be training associates for Kaizen events and may lead break out work sessions. Additionally, you will work on small CI, elimination of waste and cost reduction projects and drive the right behavior.More specifically, you will:Conduct Lean Manufacturing Implementation projects, leading teams to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results.Facilitate problem-solving and Work-Out sessions to lead teams to address issues not requiring the DMAIC approach.Conduct special data analysis projects related to improving Productivity and Efficiency as requested by management.Coach site managers, supervisors, and team leaders to establish performance measurement systems and goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost aligned with organizational objectives.Oversee cross-functional teams engaged in continuous improvement activities of the company using standard methods for value creation and waste elimination in accordance with industry-standard strategic deployment of Lean and Six Sigma.Lead continuous improvement projects, in support of organizational objectives, and delivers sustainable improvements that translate to positive financial results for the organization.Work in collaboration with the C.I. Manager and other team members at all levels, to fully assess current state and future state opportunities, while bringing colleagues along as key contributors to successful outcomes.Lead and facilitate process improvement-based workshops such as Kaizen to drive the identification of ideas and solutions across the organization, solving business problems and innovating our manufacturing operations.Cultivate and promote a strong continuous improvement culture across the facility and challenging the status quo.You will typically work the first shift, however, we are a three-shift operation and you may need to be flexible and work alternative hours on occasion to meet project demands or for training needs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong analytical skills with a mechanical aptitudeWell-spoken and articulate; able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organizationExperience coaching and developing others is preferredA proven ability to drive change, gain buy-in, and influence a variety of stakeholdersA solid understanding of data miningExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsValues team and the organization's opinions; ability to work well with the shop floor and managementSolid organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesStrong attention to detail and accuracyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA bachelor's degree required, preferably in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering2+ years of experience in manufacturing with Continuous Improvement or Industrial Engineering Lean Manufacturing -- value-stream mapping, creating, improving and training on SOPsExperience managing and implementing Lean Manufacturing ProjectsDemonstrated experience in Lean tools and structured problem solvingExperience utilizing business process tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, AutoCAD, Power BI/Power Apps for data mining, and VBA programming desiredSix Sigma Green Belt certification preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
