Job Description:

Work Based Learning Coordinator Alignment Rockford We seek a talented individual that will create links between students, employers and curriculum teams to ensure the successful delivery of work-based learning opportunities through work experience and work-based learning programs. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Work-based Learning Coordinator (WBLC) maintains and manages relationships with businesses and non-corporate partners with the purpose of aligning RPS High school students with work-based learning opportunities that align to their Career pathway. The WBLC will collaborate with the RPS College & Career Readiness Dept to support the development of employability skills with an emphasis on soft skills to aid in a meaningful experience for both students and employers. WBL opportunities will include but are not limited to the following: site visits, job shadow experiences, internships and customized activities. In addition, the WBLC will collaborate with industry advisory boards to develop strategies and source opportunities in support of ensuring that students are provided meaningful work-based learning opportunities with high labor market demand to students citywide. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --- - - - - Recruit and coordinate employer connections to meet requests for work based learning experiences --- - - - - Develop relationships and key contacts to drive employer recruitment for volunteerism for WBL within and for RPS 205 --- - - - - Participate in all Alignment Rockford A-Teams (Alignment teams) connected to College & Career Readiness --- - - - - Oversee the implementation of a work based learning electronic platform tool and serve as resource focal for users of the tool/platform --- - - - - Support the maintenance of the work based learning electronic platform --- - - - - Collaboratively develop roles & responsibilities and provide onboarding for stakeholders prior to participation in work based learning activities --- - - - - Work to implement visibility of the program through marketing within the region --- - - - - Work with employer site leadership teams to plan, develop, and implement work-based learning activities --- - - - - Schedule, convene and facilitate meetings, ensuring maximum involvement of stakeholders --- - - - - Ensure all experiences meet employer, State and Federal laws and mandates where applicable --- - - - - Meet regularly with RPS 205 College & Career Readiness team to ensure school work based learning needs are being met --- - - - - Serve as a resource for school Advisory Boards (district ASTs or Academy Support Teams) --- - - - - Other duties as assigned - SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: --- - - - - Ability to manage projects effectively from concept development through program implementation --- - - - - Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, anticipate and meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities --- - - - - Ability to conduct research, draw sound conclusions, and report findings --- - - - - Proven ability to work as a team player --- - - - - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse constituency including the ability to draft reports and correspondence --- - - - - Demonstrated working knowledge of the targeted job markets, area employers, community agencies, etc. --- - - - - Strong analytical skills to interpret job market data --- - - - - Strong organizational skills --- - - - - Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of PC-based software including advanced features of word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and Google Drive --- - - - - Ability and comfort making oral presentations --- - - - - Ability to provide support to diverse constituents including students, college faculty and staff, employer partners, and external organizations --- - - - - Knowledge of secondary career and technical education and post-secondary education a plus - EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: --- - - - - Bachelor's degree in work related field. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis. EXPERIENCE: --- - - - - 3 year experience in a work-related field. Sales experience is preferred. --- - - - - Experience coordinating work based learning experiences preferred --- - - - - Experience managing programs and with workforce development activities --- - - - - Experience coordinating and communicating with multiple organizations to ensure project participation and completion -
