Job Description:
Hybrid:
- Must be a commutable distance from Rockford, IL to work a
hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed, approximately 10-20%
of the time.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
Primary Responsibilities:
- Integration of product embedded code into the simulator
architecture
- Integration of the simulator into a hardware-in-the-loop test
environment
- Support, maintenance, or enhancement of tools used with the
simulation such as the drawing editor or scripting engine
extensions
- Investigation and remediation of performance issues with the
simulator
- Investigation and, if required, remediation of incorrect
behavior in the simulator (e.g., "crash", failure to build, output
is incorrect, et al)
- Work with team to develop estimates for planned activities
- Qualification of simulator components to support formal product
verification
- Documentation creation/update
- Address "ad hoc" questions from simulator users to determine if
remediation effort is required
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant
experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of
relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is
required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in relevant field such as Software Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or
Mathematics; strong preference for Software Engineering
- Experience in computer programming
- C coding experience with knowledge of C++
- Experience with developing applications under the UNIX/Linux
operating system family (but Windows is good too)
- Embedded flight software build knowledge: comfortable with
tools such as make
- Linux POSIX mechanisms for facilities such as IPC and
threading
- Experience with common symbolic debugging tools (e.g., gdb,
ddd, or dbx)
- Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, and
Linux shell
- Aerospace experience, especially with aircraft systems
architecture
- Experience in GUI Development, Linux system administration,
computational numerical methods, TCP/IP
