Job Description Job Description Imports: Core Responsibilities •
Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for customers,
overseas agents, and carriers (shipping lines, airlines, truckers).
• Shipment Management: Manage the full lifecycle of import
shipments, from booking to final delivery, tracking milestones and
resolving issues. • Documentation: Ensure all necessary import
documents (pre-alerts, customs forms) are accurate, timely, and
submitted for customs clearance. • Data & Systems: Perform data
entry in operating systems (like CargoWise), maintain shipment
records, and handle costing/invoicing. • Communication: Provide
regular, proactive updates to customers and partners on shipment
status. • Compliance: Adhere to all import regulations, customs
rules, and company/client SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). •
Problem-Solving: Address service failures, delays, or discrepancies
with carriers and partners to meet customer satisfaction. Key
Skills & Qualifications: • Strong organizational and
time-management skills. • Excellent written and verbal
communication. • Attention to detail and accuracy. • Knowledge of
import/export regulations and customs procedures. • Experience with
logistics software (e.g., CargoWise). • Ability to work under
pressure and meet deadlines. Exports: Key Responsibilities •
Shipment Coordination: Plan, organize, and track shipments from
pickup to delivery, arranging with airlines/shipping lines and
hauliers. • Documentation: Create, process, and submit essential
documents (AWB, BL, customs forms, invoices) accurately and on
time. • Compliance: Ensure adherence to international trade
regulations, customs procedures, and specific handling standards
(e.g., IATA, HAZMAT). • Client Communication: Serve as the main
point of contact, providing status updates, quotes, and resolving
issues to build strong client relationships. • System Management:
Update shipment status in logistics software and maintain accurate
records. • Problem Solving: Proactively address delays,
discrepancies, and other shipment challenges. • Financials: Assist
with cost indications, quotes, and file billing. Essential Skills &
Qualifications • Experience: Previous freight forwarding/logistics
experience, especially in exports. • Knowledge: Understanding of
international trade, customs, and carrier procedures. • Technical:
Proficiency with logistics software (e.g., CargoWise) and MS
Office. • Soft Skills: Excellent communication (written/verbal),
organization, time management, attention to detail, and ability to
