Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable Payroll Specialist to support the department by carrying out various duties related to processing payroll data, verifying work hours, issuing deductions, and earnings, updating records, and processing routine changes to employee records.Key Details

• Onsite 5 days/week in Rockford, IL + Hourly Wage: $20.72 - $27.81
• 2 - 5 years of experience in preparing payroll for multiple locations.
• Proficient with the Paychex payroll system.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Updating payroll records by entering any employee information or benefits changes such as job title changes, exemptions/deductions and garnishments.
  • Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, verifying and entering data.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment and worker's compensation payments.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries.
  • Protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Calculating leave accrual adjustments.
  • Maintains federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations compliance.
  • Assists with administrative tasks including entering data and running reports in Paychex/payroll.Desired Experience (Not Required)
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relata ed field.
    • APA, CPP or FPC certification.
