Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN to lead a Level III NICU, requiring prior interim leadership and NICU management experience. Responsibilities - Position is for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in a hospital setting - Level III NICU supporting >22 to ~46 week neonates, with a capacity of 42 beds and over 5,000 deliveries annually - Requires management of neonatal patients on drips such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine - Daytime hours with a 40-hour workweek in an exempt position - Accountable for 24-hour clinical and administrative leadership of the NICU - Utilizes Epic EMR; experience with Epic is required - Role involves full clinical and administrative oversight of the NICU - Unionized nursing workforce environment - Responsibilities include supporting and mentoring other leaders in the department - Ability to travel home is allowed but not permitted every weekend - Time off before late April must be limited to accommodate department needs - Potential opportunity for permanent placement is available - Holiday coverage may be required as per facility needs Requirements - Active WI or compact RN license required and must be in hand - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP - Minimum of one, ideally two, completed interim leadership assignments - Prior experience managing a Level III or higher NICU is required - Demonstrated ability to mentor leaders and guide teams through departmental changes - Epic EMR experience required - One supervisory reference from within the past two years is required - Must provide current driver’s license - Work history/resume and completed skills checklist within past year required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-667968.
