Essential duties and Responsibilities/n/nPerforms diagnostic
radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic
procedures./nCorroborates patient’s clinical history with
procedure, ensuring information is documented and available to the
radiologist and provider./nPrepares and positions patient for
procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain
cooperation and minimize anxiety./nSelects and operates imaging
equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully
perform procedures./nPositions patient to best demonstrate anatomic
area of interest, respecting patient ability and
comfort./nImmobilizes patient as required for examination./nAssumes
responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of
patient during procedures./nInitiates basic life support when
necessary./nDetermines radiographic technique and exposure
factors./nApplies principles of radiation protection to minimize
exposure to patient, self, and others./nProcess images and reviews
for proper identification and quality control./nUses radiology
information systems (including PACS), completes all required
records and reports, submits images and data for physician review
and interpretation./nProvides practical instruction for radiography
students and other partners./nObserves universal protocol, standard
precautions and appropriate patient identifiers./nApplies
principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting
and transporting patients./nUtilities appropriate scripting,
barriers, and patient identifiers./nOperates mobile Radiologic
equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's
bedside./nAssists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray
examinations./nPrepares contrast media and assists in
administration./nEducation and Experience/n/nGraduate of an
accredited School of Radiologic Technology/n/n
/n/nCertifications/Licensure/n/nARRT Radiography registration
required/n/nIEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working
in Illinois/n/nWI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in
Wisconsin/n/nApproved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days/n/n

employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger,
handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance;

occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift
and/or move more than 100 pounds. The employee must frequently lift
and/or move patients using appropriate patient transfer equipment;
gait belts, Hoyer lift, hovermat, slider boards, etc. Moving
(pushing, pulling) patients in wheelchairs and patient carts.
Equipment- moving (pushing and pulling) portable imaging equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
