Director of Internships Department: Community Mental Health &

those we serve. Your Role The Director of Internships will be a
fully licensed clinician (LCPC/LCSW) who will be responsible for
managing the clinical and administrative oversight of all clinical
interns within CMHC, Occupational Therapy Interns (Level I or Level
II) within the I/DD program, as well as any additional internship
opportunities that may be offered through either program. This
director will be responsible for vetting, onboarding, and training
5-6 interns per year, and will provide clinical supervision which
will support the completion of their graduate program requirements.
The director will ensure that interns’ caseloads are steadily built
up and that they are provided with varying opportunities to build
upon and apply their skills. Responsibilities Provides leadership
in the cultivation, development, and maintenance of ongoing and
mutually beneficial partnerships with universities and educational
institutions through collaboration, presentation, and
communication. Identifies, interviews, and offers placement to
qualifying bachelor’s and master’s-level interns with consideration
of skill, knowledge, integrity, capacity to learn, conflict
resolution, and motivation for working in the field, along with the
recognition of the need to complement the existing team. Provides
support to interns in determining their internship site,
supervisor, and responsibilities as well as verifying school
program requirements and understanding the populations served.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with multiple departments
to ensure seamlessness of internship experience and a high quality
provision of services to consumers. Create and maintain internship
policies and procedure that ensure academic quality and integrity.
Provides onboarding and training to interns and guides planning,
assigning, and directing workflow, including oversight of
assessments, development and implementation of treatment plans, and
completion of documentation Monitors individual intern and overall
program performance and continually seeks ways to maximize
performance and enhance the experience. Ensure all new intern
paperwork, institution-specific paperwork, and any program
evaluations are completely fully and in a timely manner. Provides
direct services to individuals enrolled as prescribed in their
individualized assessment and treatment plans and completes all
required documentation of services provided in compliance with
Medicaid Rule 132 and agency policy, ensuring that the philosophy
of recovery is integrated in all aspects of service planning and
delivery Perform other duties/tasks as need and/or assigned.
Qualifications Master’s degree in human services or related field
(LCPC/LCSW licensure is required) Knowledge and/or experience in
mental health services and integrated healthcare required Minimum
of one year’s experience supervising staff working with individuals
with psychiatric disorders and working knowledge of the recovery
model required Minimum of two years’ experience doing case
management, care coordination, linkage, outreach, and/or community
support required Knowledge and/or experience of building and/or
maintaining community partnerships, business development, or
community engagement preferred. Ability and willingness to work in
a variety of environments (community, hospitals, long-term care
facilities, etc.) as well as to provide services in a location most
convenient to the individual served Effective communication skills,
both oral and written Effective documentation skills required Valid
driver’s license, documentation of current auto insurance, and
acceptable motor vehicle report required Proficient in the use of
computers, software applications, and working knowledge of
