Ipsen Inc.Job DescriptionJob Title: Project Manager, IDepartment: Project ManagementReports To: Manager of Project ManagementFLSA Status: ExemptRevision Date: July 2, 2021SummaryPlans, directs, and coordinates activities of each designated project to ensure that the customer is satisfied and that each project meets the following objectives: each project is accomplished within prescribed time frame, meets defined cost's, conforms to internal quality standards and shipment parameters. Success will be formed by a creative outlook on each project by performing the assigned duties personally and through support of the individual departmental managers.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews project proposal, sales documents and equipment specifications to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of project. Communicates requirements to department managers and monitors progress. Resolve discrepancies related to contract definition with customers and/or the internal sales group.Perform the 5 Project Management Responsibilities: Initiating, Planning, Monitoring/Controlling and ClosingEstablishes work plan and communicates with department managers to support staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.Develops and updates project schedules as well as updates product master schedules for weekly review with management groupConfers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.Helps coordinate activities of department managers to ensure on-time project performance.Works closely with Accounting and Purchasing Departments; ensuring projects are within prescribed budget and to control shipments in line with financial reporting. Helps support timely receipt of project milestone payments from customers.Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Responsible to prepare project reports for: C-level, management, client, or others.Provides the Manager of Project Management with input on internal process standards and works to help resolve problems and implements process improvements to streamline processing.Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies as necessary.Acts as the direct liaison between the customer and in-house resources to insure that the customers' expectations are met.Works with Sales and Marketing Department to generate and provide quotations for customers who are looking to enhance or modify the scope of the project.Advise Senior PM or Manager of Project Management to problems related to given assigned projects including: budgets, schedules and contracts.Expedite technical problems during the engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality phases for a timely resolution to problems.Responsible for all customer required approvalsSupports Manager of Project Management.Manages projects of average value $300,000 to $1,000,000

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Must be able to effectively and clearly present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Possess high creative reasoning and attention to detail abilities.Ability to be a self-starter and work independently without direct supervisionPossess strong problem solving skillsDeal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to handle multiple competing priorities, timely follow up on multiple projects and multiple open issues simultaneouslyTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following or similar computer programs:Intermediate to Advanced Experience:Internet software (Explorer or Chrome)Project Management software (MS Project, Clarizen, Asana, or Wrike)MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook)Beginner to Intermediate Experience:Autodesk software (Vault, AutoCAD, and Inventor)Database and Manufacturing software (Infor ERP - Syteline 9 Preferred)MS Office (Visio)CRM - Sales ForcePossess strong organizational skills.Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of time domestically, with occasional international travel. Must be able to travel by air.Education and ExperienceFour year college or university degree required, preferably in Engineering or BusinessMinimum of 2 years direct Project Management experience preferred. This includes facilitating a role as Project Engineer.Experience in more than one of the following categories is highly desirable: accounting, purchasing, negotiations, contract review, project planning, engineering and production practices.PMP certification is a plus.Physical/Visual/Mental/ Environmental FactorsThe demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
