Reports to: Vice President of Industry Partnership and Community
Engagement
Supervision Exercised: Functional supervision may be exercised over
exempt and non-exempt staff and student employees.
Job Summary
Responsible for the administration of the Business Outreach
Department, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating
personnel of the area, and the liaison to Department of Commerce
and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Illinois Community College Board
(ICCB), Northern Illinois University (NIU), and other agencies
related to this position and Rock Valley College. Responsible for
sales and client development activity, and maintaining client
relationships and customer development in supervisory skills
training, industry and healthcare training, staff development for
companies, and all client-to-client and contract training, product
sales, and partnerships for the College in these areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

* Develop, cultivate and maintain effective professional
partnerships with organizations and government agencies.
* Direct formation of and participate in advisory committees and
councils.
* Design, develop, and implement training and consulting
activities.
* Client development, facilitate client and customer relations'
activities.
* Maintain a client base and client contacts, and responsibility
for sales dollar quotas, for self and for contract sales
representatives.
* Develop new initiatives, products to sell, and partnerships to
make money and serve the community, with a goal of fiscal
self-sufficiency and evaluate and set fee structure.
* Assure timely and accurate reports for all bodies and federal
agencies, including fiscal, academic, and administrative
reports.
* Work in cooperation with the appropriate individuals to support
public programs with the potential of feeding people into the
customer base.
* Work with faculty and instructors internally and externally to
support their efforts for training in our region.
* Act as liaison with DCEO, ICCB, NIU and other agencies and
colleges, and outside entities with a relationship to the
department and college.
* Manage Commercial Driver's License (CDL) services.
* Regular attendance is expected.
* Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain
effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of
work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field; Master's degree is
desirable.
* Four or more years of experience in administration, management,
supervision in a related field.
* Computer experience in MS Word and spreadsheets.
* Previous experience in working with Customer Training programs
and Specialty Programs, especially in a managerial capacity.
* Project management skills are preferred.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly
works in an office setting.

required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate
objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The
