FACILITIES MANAGER Job Description Legacy Academy of Excellence Charter School an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) World School, is looking for a high energy, hard working, child centered, and flexible Facilities Manager to oversee the janitorial staff as well as perform needed repairs, general building maintenance and cleaning duties. Legacy Academy is located in a beautiful, scenic area in Rockford, Illinois across from a lovely park and we have a very welcoming and supportive staff. We are expanding and looking for staff members who can grow with us. This is a full-time position with typical work hours from 6:00am to 2:00pm, but the position requires overnight on-call duty and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises. The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Executive Director. Primary Responsibilities (To include but not be limited to): Ensure the full upkeep and high-functionality of the facility Complete preventive maintenance and repairs for facility and equipment Manage and supervise the daily work of custodial staff Manage project plans for winter break and summer facility renewal and repair projects Ensure all required permits are maintained and in place Coordinate and oversee snow removal and landscaping Coordinate and oversee the cleanliness of facility through contracts with janitorial vendors Coordinate and oversee the security of facility through contracts with alarm vendors Coordinate and oversee the HVAC systems in facility through contracts with heating, ventilation, and electrical vendors Coordinate and oversee all furniture delivery and installation Oversee implementation of asbestos abatement plans, lead abatement plans, and water regulation compliance Oversee implementation of fire safety plans, including contracts for the monitoring and maintenance of fire alarm and fire suppression systems; liaise with local police and fire departments as needed Order all necessary departmental supplies following school protocol including: obtaining Material Request approval, maintaining purchase log, and submitting receipts Collaborate with Business Manager to obtain multiple quotes for significant purchases Review vendor invoices for payment approval Maintain inventory of keys Legacy is conveniently located at 4029 Prairie Rd, Rockford, IL.
