UPM Raflatac is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer, Finishing to join our team in Dixon , Illinois who will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering in the finishing department, including slitting, warehousing, and our automated packing line.   • Specify, order, and supervise mechanical installation and planning for the factory in Dixon, Illinois.
  • Troubleshoot process equipment in cooperation with maintenance and production staff.
  • Ensure mechanical installation and mechanical maintenance duties are performed safely.
  • Complete assigned mechanical projects and developments from problem definition through installation, commissioning, and training.
  • Coordinate and supervise mechanical installations by contractors and outside vendors.
  • Coordinate and supervise engineering companies.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to equipment maintenance, processes, and performance; analyze as appropriate to determine and capitalize on best practices.
  • Define needed spare parts inventory to minimize lost production time and inventory costs.
  • Participate in major capital projects.
  • Lead and manage projects for UPM Raflatac.
  • Monitor work order and production reports for recurring/developing problems and lead efforts to eliminate problems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems utilizing vendors, consultants and contractors as required.
  • Communicate all equipment changes to maintenance team and production partners.
  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws and health safety and environmental regulations in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.

    Job Requirements:Who you are:
    • You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • You have minimum 2-5 years' experience in a similar role in production environment, preferably in the paper or converting industry, in a company with high standards.
    • You are proficient with the use of AutoCAD and 3D tools and have a good understanding of mechanical components and mechanical planning.
    • You are experienced in leading technical and organizational projects and successful implementation.
    • You ensure a high level of safety standards in working procedures.
    • You can demonstrate analytical/logical problem-solving skills along with drive, inventiveness, and initiative.
    • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents.
