As a Painter at Grand Geneva, you will perform work involving the skills of painting, refinishing, wallpapering and aesthetic maintenance. We are a longstanding symbol of home and family, rooted in tradition and eager to shape a brighter future together. What will you be doing? · Maintain interior and exterior of building. Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guests and associate requests. Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scrapes, wire brushes and blowtorch, to prepare surfaces for painting. Fills nail holes, cracks and joints with putty plaster or other filler. Selects premixed paints or prepares paint to match specified colors by blending and mixing required proportions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances. Paints surfaces using brush, spray gun or paint roller. Simulates wood grain, marble, brick or tile effects. Creates special effects by applying paint with cloth or canvas over floors and furniture to protect them from spattered paint. May perform any or all of the following\: Cut stencils and stencil surfaces with lettering or decorations\: paint signs on such surfaces as cloth, bulletin boards, etc. Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained. Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. What do you bring to the role? · High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade or vocational school graduate or one year’s experience as a painter or 1 or 3 years as a painter’s helper is considered desirable. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch. Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 80lbs.
